Good Shepard Review
Blog
The Good Shepard is about an American who is gone away to Russia and various other places as a spy for the United States of America working for the C.I.A. to collect information and trade information with other Russian spy's to benefit both sides. The main reason the U.S. agent is searching for info is because the C.I.A believe that Castro was, the dictator of Cuba, tipped of the bay of pigs and what the U.S. was going to unleash at Cuba. The main idea of this movie is the attempt of Edward Wilson and the C.I.A trying to find the spy tipping Castro. Not to spoil anything but the spy is Wilson's son's girlfriend.......sorry.
Overall i would give this movie a solid 1 of 4 stars. The good thing about this film was that much about the cold war and what happend behind the scenes envoloving the CIA and undercover agents was learned without a doubt, the acting was also phonominal, but unfortunatly for this movie in my opinion the cons outweighed the pros significantly. The one poor thing the director, Robert de Niro, brought into account throughout the movie was order. it seemed like throughout most of the movie the events and scenes would bounce around leaving the movie watcher confused and unable to grasp a full understanding of the movie itself. This is the major reason why i would honestly not recommend watching this movie. Another reason this movie did not achieve a perfect 4 of 4 stars was because it was very slow and not very entertaining. The movie was boring and dragged along extremely where i was sick of watching it, at one point i literally got sick watching this movie that's how horrible it was.........don't waste your time watching this movie, just google it if you want to know what it's about. I hope this has been helpful and god bless you. Pleasantville Review |
Blog The movie pleasantville is about too people, a brother and sister, in present day who don't exactly fit in and are fans of a show called pleasantville. They are sucked into the show dazed and confused. They eventually come to terms that they are in the show that they both dearly enjoy watching with their beloved characters. As they start to fit in and realize they are the smartest people there they start to like the life they have in the show instead of their real one but in the show they come to terms that they don't like the way everyone acts and behaves. They don't like conformity and the way people in town go about living their lives. Rebellious teens mainly, with a couple adults, start to revolt against conformity which is started by the boy mainly. Each time sometime changes to act a different way they turn to color instead of staying black and white. Adults that don't agree start to go against this......I'll leave you at that so I don't spoil the movie like i did for Good Shepard.
This movie overall deserves a good 3 of 4 stars. This movie from the beginning to the end was enjoyable and easily relateable. The best thing about this movie was that things could have been easily learned of teens challenging conformity in the 1950's and even adults challenged it by things like poetry abstract art, dancing, singing, and the list goes on and on. Another thing that was great about this movie was that being a teen myself made it very easy to relate to and see how it was for someone like me to be in a community in the 1950's....I wonder how i would have acted. The movie itself was also very well written and pretty good acting by Tobby Mcguire throughout the entire movie. The one and single thing that I could possibly could complain about is watching in black and white but if you can look past that i recommend this movie to anyway interested in past America. |
